Sue Crowell, MS | Dir. of Educational and Therapeutic Needs

Sue Crowell, MS has more than twenty years of experience working with students and families in the therapeutic wilderness environment. Her background includes experience ranging from direct care field staff, to Executive Director of an outdoor program, to Executive Vice President of one of the largest outdoor behavioral corporations in the country where she was responsible for the oversight and management of more than ten therapeutic intervention programs. During her tenure she facilitated the formation, development, and growth of six of the company’s most successful wilderness programs, including the first developmentally appropriate wilderness experience for students ages 10 to 13.

In addition to her extensive work experience, Sue is a founding member of OBHIC (Outdoor Behavioral Healthcare Industry Council), and has served on the Board of Directors for NATSAP (National Association of Therapeutic Schools and Programs), the premiere organization  of alternative therapeutic facilities in the country.

Sue is recognized in the industry as one of the most dominant and formative figures in the field of non-traditional therapeutic interventions. She brings a unique perspective, extensive knowledge, and rare insight into evaluating student’s needs, and to effectively addressing, managing and guiding struggling adolescents and young adults towards more productive and positive paths.
